Looking to build a gaming computer ( Wargame, Company of Heroes 2) that works well with media/ Photo and Video too. My brother says just to get an iMac, but they are expensive, any suggestions? I have a monitor, but need everything else. I would like to spend around $1000 if that's possible?

Top of budget:

I won't get the R9 380 at this price... And i5-6600K offers no noticeable performance gain from the i5-4690K.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yMrkBm Here you go.
the 390 beats the 970 in games and amd is getting better preformance gains with dx12 for now
you can add a bigger ssd if its in your budget and you can replace the psu with something else, this one is basicly top of the line
i didnt go with 6600k because i dont hink it is worth the extra cost for since the 4690k is not a bottleneck
