Hello there - I have a server box with a 4 HDD RAID array. It is set to RAID 10 in the BIOS. It has a FiraDisk Virtual disk enumerator made by Karyonix. I am assuming this is the type of RAID controller. When I get to the installation part where the HDDs are recognized it only sees my thumb drive I am using to install Linux. If anyone has any ideas that would be great. Thanks in advance, JLS

Solution
Firadisk is a ramdrive. It sounds like you need to load your raid drivers in debian before you can actually install it so I moved this to Open Source Software for you.
It would probably be helpful if you listed your systems specs with make and model#'s of the parts, as well as seeing if you have a dedicated raid card or if those drives are connected to the motherbd.

Check with your hardware manufacturer for Linux RAID drivers. If you have Windows drivers, you can check them for manufacturer info, and cross your fingers that it supports Linux.

You will make your life much easier if you boot off "standard" IDE / SATA drive, and use RAID volume for data / user folders only.
