Hello,

I'm currently running a nvidia 660ti based video card and want to upgrade to accommodate one or possibly two 4k or 1440p monitors. I do not plan on gaming with these monitors, simply web browsing and running a surveillance program.

How much do I need to spend on a video card in order to run these monitors?

Thanks,

Honestly, if you're not using any 3D or GPU-accelerated stuff, the integrated GPU in any recent CPU will do (my Latitude E7440 has an i7-4600U in it, and runs 2x 1440p and 1x 1080p screen off the Intel IGP without problem) - 2D power is largely a solved problem - your main issue is finding something with the requisite connectors (or just using DisplayPort daisy-chaining).

If you were to do graphic heavy programs like rendering, etc this is what i would go for:
2x 1440P Monitors? R9 390
2x 4K Monitors? R9 390X

Excellent choice for basic tasks like the ones you seem to be running:
2x 1440P? R9 290X
2x 4K? R9 290X

for just web browsing and simple stuff an r9 270x/r7 370 is more than enough
