Hey guys, i have a dilemma and maybe you can help me decide. I bought an year ago a laptop, an Asus X550LN ,a pretty nice laptop for its price(it was on sale when i bought it) ,i5 4200u, 8gb ram, geforce 840m, but it's HDD is slow as hell. So i figured that i have to buy an SSD to increase the speed, but i have only one bay for hdd/ssd, so i can't just have a ssd for OS and an HDD for storage. So i have to decide what to buy. Do you think that 250gb will be enough, or should i go 500gb? I would rather go for 250gb because it has a more affordable price(for me-i'm a 15 yrs old ) and i don't really want to spend that much for a 500gb(but i can if i have to :) ). I'm currently using 170gb out of 1tb hdd (some games, programs and the OS). Sorry for my english and for not hitting the subject right from beggining. Thanks in advance for your answers.

I've used 60, 250 and 500 SSDs. 60 is enough for OS and 1 or 2 critical programs no more. 250 is enough for OS and all programs save trying to install your entire Steam Library. 500 good enough to be used as your only storage if you have too, again you can't install your entire steam library.

So as long as you're not trying to get your entire steam library on there and you have the 2nd hdd in there for mass file storage I think the 250 would be perfectly fine if you are trying to save some money.

Well, i finished gta v a long time ago and i don't really have what to do in game, so if i uninstall that, i will have 110gb. I can also uninstall dying light because i finished it, run a ccleaner scan and i will remain only with nfs rivals and BF3 which i still play, about 90-100gb. I usually don't play more games at once, but in the summer holiday i didn't have what to do, so... :) So what do you think now? If i will only use about 100gb, let's say i will get to 200gb max I never used that much space.

It all comes down to your budget and space needs.

For me, a single 250GB drive is a no no.
For my wife, yes. Except for all the stuff of hers I have backed up elsewhere. So no, it doesn't even work for her...:)

Hmmm, i don't think i will need that much space for some games, programs and some photos (which i can backup). So probably, until i will get a new pc/laptop(probably when i get to college, 3 more years) i will stick to the 250gb option. Thank you all for helping me.
