My specs:
GTX 980 Ti SLI, 4820k, 16GB RAM

I have 2 monitors viewsonic 60hz and wanna buy an Asus VG248QE 144hz to play games at 5760x1080 with nvidia surround. So my question is... can I run games at 60+ fps at that resolution? I understand that viewsonic couldn't show more than 60 fps, only the Asus.

So the Asus (will be the middle monitor) will display 60+ fps but the viewsonic's will only display maximum 60 fps. Am I correct?

Should I go for the Asus?

Yes, disabling surround in NVIDIA control panel will bring your refresh rate back up to 144hz. I tend to stay away from high refresh panels as the gran majority of it are TN based meaning bad color Reproduction and view angles. I only buy VA, pls, and ips monitors for that reason. If the middle monitor is running at 144hz, the image will refresh faster than the other two which make the outside displays seem slow or laggy.
Yes, you can run more 60 frames in 5670x1080 resolution with sli 980tis. I can do it with my single 980ti. No, the middle monitor won't display more than 60 frames in surround if the two other monitor cant. Even if it were possible, do really one screen to be faster than the others? Absolutely not.

Well, thanks, so I could run at 60hz in 5760x1080, but if I want to play at 144hz I have to turn off the two other, so... Is it still worth buying the Asus?

Btw, if it were possible, I always will be looking the middle monitor at 144hz and with my peripheral vision will be looking the 60hz monitors at the sides, which is less demanding.

i have this exact setup but I don't do surround because switching back and forth between surround and not keeps messing up my desktop icons.

Really, I'm only capable of paying attention to one monitor at a time anyways, but having the other 2 have windows like Youtube or my recording software open so I can see them without having to exit the game is useful.

Unless you're super into flight and racing sims, the surround function is kind of pointless.
