now first off lets forget about prices, or suggestions of what to buy. the reason im asking is to see if you guys think it would be worth getting a new monitor. i play csgo and while i might not be the best or even close to saying that i would like to get better. long story short, my monitor has a 87ms total response time. now if i got a monitor with a super fast response time would i notice? i use to have a 1ms response time monitor and loved it. then i got a cheap 1440p 27 in monitor and from day 1 i thought it felt slow just dragging my mouse on my desktop. so should i keep what i have or save up?

80 + mS may not seem like a lot but in FPShooters it does make a difference. I noticed a big difference by going from going from an older 1920x1200 to a newer one that had over 50 mS less input lag. My score/min went up significantly in Black Ops 2 - nothing else was changed.

with my old monitor i would play mw2 and was always on top for frags, then i switch to this and well... didnt do so hot. so yeah, as long as im not alone in this. i will definitely get a new monitor in the future. 144hz, 1440p 27 in with a low response time is what i want but wanting all that im gonna have to pay the price. thanks for your input.

another thing i want to add that i forgot is think of monitor response time as ping. if i average about 45-50 ping in csgo and my monitor is about 87 then my real ping in my eyes is about 130ms. and thats just unacceptable in a fps. especially when your awping and need all the reaction time u can get.

Many games have lag compensation to try and level the playing field (worse thing ever IMO) but reduced input lag will definitely improve your your chances.

RANT: Lag comp just encourages laggy players to hang around and ruin the experience for players with good connections.
