If you want 2.1 speakers, the Logitech Z523 set is very good.
If you want a 2.0 speaker set, then the one recommended by Outlander_04 is good.
Personally, I do like the extra bass delivered by the 2.1 systems. Unfortunately, the excellent 2.1 speaker systems usually start at $150.
Music is a category, so if you are listening to classical or acoustic music, I would recommend the JBL Pebble speakers. They come in three different color sets, but the closest to what you specified is black with orange accents for $60:

If you listen to rock or dance music, I would tend to recommend a 2.1 speaker system. My highest recommendation (excluding price) goes to the Bose Companion 5 speakers. They deliver home theater style audio with their own audio DAC (they have their own USB sound card), but they are also $400.
Keeping with the under $100 price category, the Logitech Z523 2.1 speaker set is likely your best option for rock and dance music (and they are currently on sale for $62 + S/H) at:

Have fun!
