I have a dual r9 290x crossfire setup. I am unable to run anything for more than 10-20 seconds before my system locks up and a reset is required. I have checked my psu rails and they all show 11.8-12.1V under load. It's not a supply issue. Any help would be great. Thanks

Solution
Ok, I looked out. What you want is impossible.

Overclocked FX 8370 AND XFire 290X in mATX? Not possible, because mostly there is no 990FX mATX board.

What CPU, PSU, what motherboard, is your motherboard BIOS up to date, what is your monitor/TV, what is your method of connecting to the TV/monitor? HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort ? What drivers are you using, what OS, are using the OS up to date?

My CPU is an AMD FX-8370 OCd to 5.6 Ghz, My psu is a 1000w silverstone strider, my motherboard is an Asrock 970m pro/3, I updated my UEFI as soon as i installed windows, I connect to a Sony TV using a HDMI cable, I am using catalyst 15.8, I have tried 15.4 and 15.7

Yeah, sorry, can't believe that. No AMD FX can overclock to more than 5.1 GHz on all 8 CPU cores, especially NOT on a 970 motherboard. You'd need at least a 990FX motherboard for any serious OC on an FX 83x0. And certainly no more than 5.1 Ghz.

Here is a manufacturers link to the specs http://Ok here are the results of my testing. Both cards on the same 12 V Rail (1 available) 80 amp rated. Hooked up multimeter and set it to read DC and started to load the cards, voltages dipped to about 11.7-11.9 V For the few seconds that the game ran. I tried the same thing, with my meter set to AC Voltage, and checked my ripple. 75-90 mV. I doubt its a 12V issue.

I think the motherboard is the problem. AMD's 970 chipset isn't made for a) CPU overclocking and b) consistent, massive power delivery.

For your FX 8370, I suggest buying a motherboard based on 990X or 990FX chipset.

I have the same problem and it's not your Mother board, I have ASUS Sabertooth Mark 1, i7 4790K, Asus R9 390x Strix in Crossfire (2 exact same GPU's) and GTA 5 & Call Of Duty Advanced Warefare, both freeze my PC straight away. I have 4K monitor but even reducing the RESOLUTION still freezez, please help

Guys I have found the solution, all I did was update my motherboard bios to the latest and now my computer is running with less screen tearing, slightly better FPS and on top of that most importantly NO CRASHING at all!
