So... I now have a Corsair CX430 PSU which has a 6+2 pin PCIE power connector.
I want to use this with a HD7870 graphics card which has 2 x 6 pin power connectors. I have a 6 pin splitter to enable the graphics card to be connected to the PSU.
Im currently running this with an Antec PSU with 1 x pin PCIE connector and splitter, but wanted to swap the antec for the corsair. My question is will I be ok with a 6+2 pin connector with a 6 pin splitter, leaving the 2 pin connector connected to nothing.
Thanks in advance... Quick note, this PSU method is just a temporary measure until I get a decent 500w - 600w PSU with 2 x 6 pin connectors.
