Hey all,

This is my first crack at PC building (with my old PC blue-screening on me recently) and just wanted second opinions on the motherboard, which optical drive and how powerful the PSU should be in particular - and any recommended alternatives:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: MSI H97M-G43 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Gigabyte N960WF2OC-2GD 2G GTX 960 WINDFORCE
Case: Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower Case
PSU: Cooler Master 500W ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: ???

I don't plan to overclock this pc and I live in Australia if that has any effect on PC part prices/choices.

Thanks guys!

PSU is the bedrock of your Gaming Rig. If your cheap PSU fail, it might kill your your system. So choose any Tier 1 or Tier 2 series PSU of 500~550Watt within your budget

For a non-K CPU, a H97 mobo is enough. And MSI H97M-G43 is a good one

Choose any Optical Drive [Asus,Lg,Samsung,Liteon] either its DVD-RW [$20] or Blu-Ray/DVD-RW [$40]

Your other parts are really well compatible.

If you have the budget you can go for the 4GB version instead of 2GB with extra $40.
