So, basically, I'm selling my AMD FX-6350 and MSI-970A-G43 for a new processor, and if there's money left over, going towards a new mobo. Try and keep the price for the CPU under $200 and the motherboard under $85. It is meant to be a good gaming computer. Im looking for it to contribute to my 45+fps needs at medium (preferably high)-ultra settings. Please try and keep the prices as low as possible, but don't make the computer bad. Ill be playing games like GTA 5, The Witcher 3, Battlefield 4, AC4, and ARK. I have been AMD brainwashed so I am a bit amd biased, but I know Intel has really good products and I dont mind doing Intel.I was looking at the FX-8350, i5 4460, or i5 4590. Was also looking into a one a bit over budget, I can, but that means I need a cheaper mobo. Or, edit my partlist and save me money, to buy better cpu and such.

Your issue as I see it is the G43 motherboard. It will run the FX-6350 just dandy, but will not take advantage of what the CPU really has to offer.

If you can sell the FX-6350 with the G43 for $200 I say go for it, but turn around and purchase this:

AMD FX-6350
Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P
8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1866
Combo Deal: $236

For that extra $36, you get 8GB of RAMs and a motherboard that will take the FX-6350 to places the G43 can only dream of.

The PSU and HDD will run you $100 --- a DVD Optical: $15

Your remaining cash should go toward your video card (roughly $200-$250). It would be even better for you to 'leap' into the $300-range if possible because that gets you into GTX 970 or R9 390 territory. --- You are going to...

Nope, the FX-6350 will not meet my needs. I am also wanting to upgrade, as in better cpu and mobo. If the FX-8350 + GA-970A-UD3P is good, I may do that. I am wanting best performance though, and a 8350 is at or lower than an i5s standards. Ofcourse, Intel is alot more pricy, but I mean I guess its worth it. Not sure, Wisecracker. Blackbird, under the price will ya?

Your build is fine , just added a better PSU. CX500 are poor power supplies.

Bignasty I do not need crossfire. I jsut need 45+fps, 1080p gaming. I feel no need, but would be cool if it had it. I need PC 3.0 obviously. 32gb or higher max ram, 1600mhz is a must, and must be stable, and no heating/vrm, issues. Also, jsut an ATX board is preferable , I dont know much about micro, so you would have to explain. I understand i ts for smaller cases, but what else? Can the performance compare to other standard atx mobos?

Black bird, if you can substituent any parts, and make other cheaper, go ahead and rearrange it. For an example, if you get a cheaper ram, and HDD, you can convert that too a better cpu and mobo. Just keep price under 615. Anyone, can feel free to do this. I'd like too see the different builds. Thanks, everyone in advance.

I have only bought the Case, and the CPU Cooler. I bought an AMD-FX6350 and was gifted the MSI-970A-G43. Since I got my fx brand new at $80 and now the price as rose, I figured Id sell both for $200. I have many people wanting this combo.

FX-8350 and that Gigabyte board are a great, low-cost combo for gaming (combined with a good graphics card).

If you can't make that leap, the best video card with your remaining cash is likely to be an R9 280X or a GTX 770. Either should work just dandy, and transition to DX12 with Win10.

The GTX 960 is a decent card with limitations. The Maxwell arch traded CUDA cores for compression technology. This works well in a handful of games but not so great at others. The GTX 770 is likely 10- to 15% faster --- the R9 280X probably 15- to 20% faster (either card dependent upon the games played).

With either the GTX 970 or Radeon R9 390, you will not have to worry about 1080p gaming for quite some time. Remember: In a gaming build, it's your video card that does the heavy lifting in the over-whelming majority of titles.

I can see why you chose this, very good. But, I am wanting a better cpu, for specifically gaming purposes and with my budget amd might do me good, but Intel will be better. The fx 8350 is impressive, but with benchmarks, I can see it is put to shame by other cpus. Make me a build, wit ha $630 budget max, not including the cpu cooler and case. I have a Hyper Evo 12 cpu cooler (im sure you know hat im talking about) and a Rosewill Galaxy 02 case.
