280 ping spikes every 20-60 seconds. last 5-15 seconds

CPU:I5 3570k 3.8 ghz
WiFi Card:Rosewill RNWD-N9003PCE
For almost a month now i have had (across all games and online experiences, including Skype and YouTube, VERY frequent and high amounts of lag, every 30 seconds or so. This has made online games unplayable. i have tried everything i can think of, from updating drivers to accepting maybe my wifi card has died, no matter what i do i seem to have an unplayable connection out of no where. it is important to note this is ONLY on my computer, my xbox, wii, playstation, other computers, and phone all work fine at high speeds. just out of no where with no sudden change (this was week after windows 10 mind you) i have unplayability. please help i am desperate.

does it do it with a wired connection? You really need to test with a wired connection to help eliminate variables.

everything else is on a wireless network, including the computer i borrowed the wifi card from (which is not lagging) so it is not a matter of a wired connection

Try doing "pathping" against an external server, like google.com. It can take around 3-5 minutes to complete, but it has a good chance to show you where your latency and/or packetloss starts.

but im worried because nothing showed my massive lag. unless since i live in jacksonville and this shows 62 ping just in miami is massive lag

Did another scan and it showed more packet loss in 2 more locations, but not miami this time

Depending on what games you're playing, they may be using TCP. Packetloss can cause high pings in TCP because TCP needs to re-transmit lost packets and there can be a large delay between transmissions.

Hi, I have the exact same wireless card you listed and I think i have narrowed down the problem. I tested ping on my phone and it is fine, but i get large spikes noticible in games and when i do 30 or so pings using command prompt. it spiked every 10 seconds up to over 500ms. I am going to try another wireless card soon and see if that helps.
