Hey Guys, im new to the forum, welcome yeyy!
Alright, im creating this topic because i need a help to identify a possible bottleneck on my desktop (with my specs i believe it will be pretty obvious but lets go)

Recently i bought a Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming for my desktop, great GPU, playing all games so far in ultra settings 1920x1200 at minimum 58 fps, but normally 60 to 100.
But there is an issue going on that really bugs me.. sometimes playing any game the screen just freezes for a few milliseconds. I decided to perform some tests using MSI Afterbuner monitor with Metal Gear V Ground Zeroes. So I selected to show the gpu usage, core clock, fps, cpu usage and memory usage while gaming.
let me paste some results below and then my computer specs:

Playing normally at 60 fps on ultra settings - 1920x1200 I got
GPU Usage: 60 to 65%
Core Clock: 1380Mhz
CPU Usage: 25 to 30%
Memory: 3gb

I noticed that every time the screen freezes the gpu usage goes down to 0% and the core clock decreases a lot. I believe this is occurring due my old MoBo which is a Biostar H55 HD

My computer specs below:

MoBo: Biostar H55 HD
CPU: I7 870 2.9Ghz LGA 1156 (Watercooler Corsair H60) - With turboboost I get 3.6Ghz while playing with no temp issues
GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 970 G1 Gaming Windforce
HD: SSD Corsair 220GB Force LS (Just to make sure it was nothing to do with hard drives I installed Metal Gear on my SSD but the freeze keep occurring)
Memory: 2x4GB Kingston 1333Mhz
PSU: Sapphire Pure 1050w
2 More HDs: 1 Seagate 1TB for files and media and 1 Samsung 1.5TB for games

I dont think it could be something related to temps once at full load my cpu gets a max of 53c and the GPU 69 to 71c.

So, could be the case that my MoBo or my PSU isn't working as expected like not providing enough power to my GPU (or other components) ? I dont think it could be hard drive once I installed Metal Gear on my SSD for testing purposes, could be a problem with my new GPU??? im getting crazy here.. :( .. such a beautiful GPUand still my games freezes

Any help will be much appreciated! :D

My voltages are:

Hardware monitor ITE IT8721
Voltage 0 12.06 Volts [0xEA] (+12V)
Voltage 1 5.27 Volts [0xF6] (+5V)
Voltage 2 0.90 Volts [0x4B] (CPU VCORE)
Voltage 3 1.67 Volts [0x8B] (VIN3)
Voltage 4 0.53 Volts [0x2C] (VIN4)
Voltage 5 1.98 Volts [0x84] (+3.3V)
Voltage 6 1.19 Volts [0x63] (VIN6)
Voltage 7 1.66 Volts [0x8A] (VIN7)
Voltage 8 1.58 Volts [0x84] (VIN8)
Temperature 0 28°C (82°F) [0x1C] (CPU)
Temperature 1 59°C (138°F) [0x3B] (Mainboard)
Temperature 2 24°C (75°F) [0x18] (TMPIN2)
Fan 0 2083 RPM [0x144] (CPU)
Fan 1 4592 RPM [0x93] (FANIN1)
Fan PWM 0 99 pc [0x7F] (FANPWM0)
Fan PWM 1 99 pc [0x7F] (FANPWM1)
Fan PWM 2 99 pc [0x7F] (FANPWM2)

Update 1: Windows clean install, recently formatted using Windows 10, all drives installed and functional , also the GPU Drivers are up to date as well.

Update 2: Probably a dumb question, but, could this bottleneck damage my new GPU?

It wasn't a double post - they're five minutes apart and say different things. Opinions are what Tom's is about and they wl; always vary so calm down please, folks and try helping the OP.

Jozsef tokai, I doubt you'll get the results you want with the motherboard. Time to upgrade, I reckon, along with a enw PSU but another opinion will doubtless be along soon..

Do you even read the OP's thread or just read a few words then smash the keyboard?

Why did you even bother when you are not helping the OP?

I was answering of his question.
I don't answer what i don't know.
But i will answer what i did know.

Read the update 2.
I guess you don't read, just want to smash the keyboard for replying on me.

You even did double post LMAO.

Hey guys! First of all thank you for all the replies. Sorry if I caused some confusion, I just asked so many questions...

So yeah, I definitively need to upgrade my MoBo... im considering changing my I7 870 LGA 1156 for an I5 4690K .. any suggestions for a low price high end MoBo ??

Is it worth to still spend money in LGA1150 ?

And not less important, about my PSU, can it hold it well till probably half of next year?? just saving money for a new MoBo + CPU so I will probably be able to get a new good PSU at half of 2016...

Thanks again for all recommendations! :)
