Can anyone help please?

I have recently built a behemoth of a comp for a friend and am having problems with freezing/crashing. I have already installed windows 7 home edition x64 and the problem occurs anywhere from 1 minute in to 45 mins in, the screen will effectively lock up and the mouse cursor will not move etc. I am not giving the comp anything even remotely taxing to do at all? The spec is as follows:

*EVGA Supernova 850W Fully Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply
*Asus GTX 750 OC 2GB GDDR5 VGA DVI HDMI PCI-E Graphics Card
*Asus CROSSHAIR V FORMULA-Z 990X Socket AM3+ 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard (8 core)
*AMD FX 9590 4.7GHz Socket AM3+ 8MB L3 Cache Retail Boxed Processor
*Be Quiet Shadow Rock 2 CPU Cooler
*HyperX 16GB 2133MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL11 DIMM (Kit of 2) XMP Predator Series
*250gb Samsung SSD drive (OS)
*1tb Toshiba HDD (slave)

Initially I thought it was a ram issue, but after testing both sticks on there own the problem continues (surely both sticks can't be corrupt?). I also tried upping the voltage from bios to 1.6v, this made the system last a little longer but ultimately the same thing occurred.

My second thoughts are that the processor is drawing too much voltage and the motherboard can't handle it? But I do not have any way of testing this.

Processor temp seems to be fine, running at 47c on average.

I'm stumped?

I have a hardware monitor running and it claims that the cpu temp is not reaching above 39.9c with the cooler. Do you still think this is the cause because if so I will look at this cooler instead:

I have now tried memtest86 and the ram has come back fine. I have ordered the new heatsink and will let you know if that did the trick.

Thank you for your help.

Ok so I have now replaced the heatsink with a more than suitable alternative and am having the same freezing/crashing issue. Memtest come back fine, so is there any way of ascertaining whether this issue is MB or CPU, or both???
