AMD GPU driver error with iRacing

Since some weeks ago, while playing iRacing (a racing sim), sometimes the screen freezes and the sim crashes, showing the following error:

"AMD display driver stopped responding and has recovered"

I have all the drivers up to date. I'm using a MSI R9 280X, not overclocked.

This only happens with iRacing, I've been playing other racing sims like Stock car extreme or Raceroom and they work perfectly, and they are also more graphic demanding.

This suddenly started happening one day when the 3 races I did, in all 3 this error showed up. I raced the day before with the same GPU drivers and the same car/track in the sim, and nothing happened. Also I've been racing with my current PC since 2 months ago.

It's not because the temperatures, both CPU and GPU temps are about 55ºC when racing, and also someone suggested to increase the available voltage of the GPU, but this doesn't change anything.

The drivers that I have installed are:
-AMD Catalyst
-AMD Gaming Evolved
-MSI Gaming App
-MSI Afterburner

Do I have the correct drivers installed or there's something else that I need, or something that I have to uninstall?

Maybe the cause is that my power supply is a bad quality one. I have an Aerocool GT500S of 500W, I've heard that these aren't very good for gaming. But the fact that the error showed up suddenly confuses me.

I could change my PSU but I don't have a lot of money at the moment so first I want to be sure about the cause of this problem.

Can anyone help me?
