This is great! I'm building a new computer and I started by trying an ASUS Z170A Pro Gaming motherboard which it turned out didn't support my PNY GTX970s because they use a mini DisplayPort outlet for my G-sync monitor. ASUS's support for their product was essentially non-existent so I sent it back. When I started looking for another brand the most recommended was ASRock so I've ordered the Gaming K6. I got onto the ASRock webpage and found this forum and others so ASRock is already streets ahead of ASUS in my book. One minor quibble is that I've been on Tom's Hardware for several years and had no idea that ASRock had a forum here, as far as I know it's not accessible from the homepage. I would like to hear from anyone with advice for an ASRock noob about my motherboard, installing it, using the BIOS/UEFI and the community in general. Thanks, especially after the bad experience I had with ASUS I'm delighted to be here!

With respect, the problem you had with the ASUS motherboard is somewhat pointless investigating now if you've returned it in favour of an ASRock one. Any advice we give you, you no longer have the Asus board to try it.

If the ASRock board causes you any similar problems (or a different problem) we'll be happy to help.

Sorry, I thought I was in the ASRock forum. When I plugged my G-sync monitor into the PNY GTX970 using a mini DisplayPort connector the computer wouldn't turn on at all. If I used the DVI port and a regular monitor everything worked fine. I took the computer into a very good local repair shop and they said it was the motherboard not recognizing the mini DisplayPort. No help at all from ASUS so I returned it.
