If you guys could give me any tips on building a cheap computer for my parents to use, I'd be very grateful. They are only going to use it as a procrastination machine and light workstation (workstation meaning things like Word and Google Docs). There might be a rare instance when used for light gaming (like for Minecraft, bejeweled, and maybe some of the later releases at the lowest settings possible).

Current build I have setup: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/dqYvyc

Any response is helpful. Part suggestions are extremely appreciated.

I see rust-oluem :) case modding? Nice!

Anyway, on to suggestions :

The CPU you have chosen is a bit on the weak side, even though this is a basic build I'd still go with an FX-4300 or a Pentium...

Anyway, on to suggestions :

The CPU you have chosen is a bit on the weak side, even though this is a basic build I'd still go with an FX-4300 or a Pentium G3220 to make sure it will last a few years without slowing down.

Try to spend a bit more on the motherboard, a cheap one may mean less longevity and more problems later on.

Use a 120GB SSD instead of the HDD, provided your parents won't need a lot of storage, as it will make your PC much more responsive.

And finally, sit down with your parents and choose a nice, affordable case together that they like, as that is the one thing that they will see the most. I garantuee that they will treat the PC better if they like the look of it :).

Other than those few points, your PC looks great for basic use!
