My Video Card : MSI GeForce GTX 980 GTX 980 GAMING 4G 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support G-SYNC Support Video Card

My Power Supply is a Corsair 750w

My motherboard came with an adaptor ( 6 pin to 8 pin)

I need both 8 pins on video card connected. (As just the 6 to 8 pin doesn’t give it enough power to recognize it on my computer)

Called my only local computer store and they said all they had was a two 6 pins to one 8 pin left, holding it for me to pick up tomorrow.

I wanna make sure that the 6 to 8 pin and the two 6 pins to 8 is enough power / not too much.

Help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

5 Pictures

1st is my Power Supply (Not the linked one from seeingeyegod)
2nd is all my 6 pin cords from Power Supply (without the 6+2 type mentioned by coozie7)
3-5 is the 6 to 8 pin adaptor I have now.
( I am buying a two 6 pin to 8 pin tomorrow)
the video card needs two 8 pin to work.

is the two 6 to 8 pin and the one 6 pin 8 pin too much or not enough power?

I see 6+2 pins there, definitely. You see those 2 pin connectors on the far right of the screen in the first pic that are wired up to your 6 pin connectors? Those are your extra 2. Just hold them together and put them in to the 8 pin sockets. If you're still using the adapters or simply plugging in 6 pins, you can plug those extra 2 in instead now.
