DRAM frequency in CPUZ higher than specified on the ram itself?

Okay, so i installed 32Gigs of Gskill 1600Mhz ram recently. I'm confused, i'm aware that the dram frequency in cpuz says 800 mhz(yes double data rate). However, i jumped into the bios and was able to bump it up to 937 mhzx2 effectively. And even stranger, AMD overdrive somehow bumps up the ram speed to 1049 mhzx2? it's functioning, and according to this data my gskill ram rated for 1600 mhz is running at 2098mhz..? can someone explain? or help me understand this?

Thats because the memory also takes the base clock. You should be able to adjust the clock of your memory in the bios manually. If you overclock the memory higher than the stick is declared there is the chance of memory failures. Maybe you need ratio 100:133 or 100:100 for reaching some desired speeds. A little math will tell it.

I'm running an asus m5a78l-m/usb3 motherboard, and an Fx-8350 standard clock, i noticed that my 1600 mhz ram is currently overclocked to 1867mhz,(verified in bios) and when i overclocked my cpu to 4.5 ghz, the ram jumped up in speed as well. I'm very new to overclocking.
