I am building a PC for the first time and have a few concerns. This PC will be used primarily for school and gaming, CSGO, GTA 5, GTA 4, Cod 4, Etc. I also want this PC to be somewhat futureproof while staying on my $2000 budget.

Specs
GPU - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 ti G1 Gaming Edition
Motherboard - ASUS Z97-A or any other DDR3 LGA1150 mobo
Case - Phanteks Enthoo Pro Full Tower Chasssis
Case Fans - Corsair Air Series AF140 LED Fans OR any other 140mm fans
CPU - Intel Core i7-4790K
CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-U14S OR Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 2x8 or 4x4
PSU - EVGA SuperNova 650 GS 80+ GOLD
1TB WD Blue 1TB 7200 RPM HDD and 250GB SSD
Blu-ray optical drive
Dual ASUS 24" 144hz 1080p monitors

Cost of PC without monitors is $1934.61 $2000 budget on PC

Concerns
Should I choose a different mobo?
Which CPU cooler, Noctua NH-U14S or Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO?
Should I just get a 1TB SSD instead of a hybrid storage setup?
Should I get 2x8 GB RAM or 4x4 GB RAM?
Will my setup be overkill for the displays for demanding games, or games listed above at Ultra settings?
How does Anti-Aliasing work in games and what does it do?
Should I get fan controller? I will have about 6 fans in my case.

Solution
in that case get a 144hz and keep your 60hz. thats what i did. works like a charm. the 980 tis is perfect for 144hz 1080p.

With a dual monitor setup at 144hz you are going to need extra vram. I strongly recommend a dual r9 390x setup. I've made an ideal build for you within your budget.

-ram should always be run in dual channel with the least modules possible. 2x8 would be optimal.
-both of those coolers are sufficient. i picked another really good one for you.
-the mobo you picked was fine. i picked a different one since i chose a newer platform for you.
-the setup you made is underkill for 2 144hz monitors. to run dual monitor gaming at 1080p at a consistant 144 fps you would need at least 3 gtx 980 tis with possibly lowered settings on newer titles. that is why i recommended you the r9 390x x2.
-fan controllers are not needed. they are for extreme tweakers/overclockers or people who want to control the noise of their pcs. your motherboard can control fan speeds in the bios and most come with software that can do it.
-anti aliasing video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqi0114mwtY
-split storage is great. you dont need to have a 1tb ssd. the only advantage of games on an ssd is load times. 1tb ssd would be nice, but not for the price.

I will have dual 1080p 144hz monitors, but will only game on one at a time. I already own a 1080p 60hz monitor. Should I just get one 144hz monitor, gmae on that, and run the 60hz monitor as a secondary? Also I saw a comparison of the two cards and other forums have told me that the GTX 980 ti is way overkill... I'm not sure anymore.

id say get a 144hz monitor and a 980 ti. a 980 ti is not overkill for 144hz 1080p gaming. in fact most newer titles will get about 90 fps with a 980 ti on 1080p. if you are doing a 60 hz 1080 single monitor that would be overkill.

by the way,
144 hz means you can see up to 144 fps because your screen refreshes 144 times per second. it is better to be below your monitor's refresh rate than above or hovering around it.

well a single 980 ti would be fine with two 144hz monitors, but you wont see the fps to make it worth spending the money on the 144hz monitors. so ya, underkill. I'd still say go with the dual 390x dual 144hz. Its affordable and will perform great.

I can, but if I'm playing CS:GO, the crosshairs will be split in half by the bezels... so the secondary monitor will be for web surfing, YouTube videos, and editing. Will 60hz be enough for that? I was thinking on only buying one monitor. I own a 60hz monitor already. I was deciding on whether or not to buy one 144hz monitor or two...
