My ethernet speed dropped from 90s-100s mbps to 1-10 mbps i tested both speeds wifi and ethernet and the wifi does a lot better. Does any one know how to fix this? I turned off and reseted my wifi multiple times.

Solution

  • ■ Check the connection properties to see what speed you're connecting at.
    ■ Try a different cable.
    ■ Try plugging the cable into a different port on your router.
    ■ If you're using a switch, try plugging the computer straight into the router.
    ■ If the router is connected to a modem, try connecting the computer straight to the modem (just to test its speed).
    ■ Try disconnecting all other cables from the router except the one to your PC. I once tracked down a slow ethernet problem to a cable with both ends plugged into the same switch, creating a loop that was driving the switch crazy.
    ■ Clean out the ports at both ends. Use a can of compressed air and blast out any dust or debris which might have gotten trapped.
    ■ Try file transfers...

    ■ Try file transfers between two computers on your LAN, instead of testing speed to the Internet.
