How important is the cpu for me?

Hello I was thinking of upgrading my pc from a athlon x4 750k (3,9ghz) and r7 260x 2gb. but I had one issue, I couldnt upgrade both so I chose to upgrade my gpu first and cpu later or never if it's not really neccesary. Im going to upgrade my gpu to an r9 390 but will it be a great fps difference between my pc and one with a better cpu?
Note about games I want to play: Just cause 3 fallout 4 GTA 5(already have this and runs great) metal gear phantom pain and some older but demanding games
also is this a really big bottleneck?

Thanks I always thought I had a crappy CPU that was holding me back but I guess it's decent enough for current/next gen gaming :)

This.

And 30-50fps is pretty nice. if you have your new GPU i would test how much overclocking your CPU increases framerates and 3DMarks. Probably quite a bit because it will be the limiting factor.

Problem is it already is turboboosted from 3,4ghz to 3,9ghz, but how the cpu is now with an r9 390 will be good too right? atleast good enough to get my moneys worth for buying that gpu

idk, i think you will lose 50-20% of GPU power because CPU is too slow
