My Evga gtx 960 keeps running at 1430. I have the card overclocked to run at 1556 and Once it gets stuck at this speed the only way to stop it is to restart the PC. But even though it says it's at this speed it runs like garbage, running games like farming simulator at 20fps! I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and ega precision x but nothing works. Please try to answer this as fast as possible because I am selling this card soon and need it fixed, Thanks!

As for the clocks its gpu downclocking trying to prevent running higher than itts default TDP or to prevent overheating

You are hitting the 100% power limit. Use afterburner to raise the limit, and voltage to 1.215v or so.

The voltage increases to 1,2 by its self at least in mine 960. I dont think in the FARMER simulator he hits the power limit lol

If you up your clock and it hits the power limit, or the voltage is not high enough, it will force a known good speed, which is exactly the issue you mentioned.

1556mhz is an absolutely amazing speed, perhaps a driver update from nVidia has a different power profile allowed now?
They say electromigration effects will make BSOD behavior show up out of nowhere when the damage starts being relevant. Perhaps the record breaking clock speed is not sustainable anymore?
Personally I would stay at 1.2v, and clock up to whatever is stable and enjoy it.

check the power management mode in the nvidia control panel, set it to adaptive, had a similar to yours (zotac gtx960) and setting it to adaptive fixed my issue.
I downclocked it back to what it was origanaly and it was good for a while but now it is doing the same thing I checked the power management mode but it was set to adaptive. It says it's running at 1430ghz but looks like it's running at 300ghz with unplayable performance in every game. is it Mabey just dying?

To repair games right click on them then you will browse the options and find check intergrinity of game cache files

Try another edition of it or evga precision X or gpu z sensors. Also the games you play on steam are heavier than the non steam games you have?
I can't install msi afterburner because it says it's on a network path that doesn't exist or something like that. I delocked my gpu So I don't need to do anything with that... I repairs the steam games but with no luck, I'm going to try uninstall and reinstall steam, I will post what the results are

You mean that if you open steam and play a non steam game you have low fps? Did a malware bytes scan?

Ok but try on screen display with precision x or screenshot of hwinfo after you play a steam game cause it might be cpu overheat. (example)
