I am going to buy a gaming computer soon, but I do not know what GPU to pick. I have a 1080p 60 Hz monitor but hope to upgrade to either a 144 Hz or 1440p.
The rest of the parts is these:
CPU: Intel 6700k
Motherboard: Not decided but Asus Hero VIII Z170 or something similar
PSU: EVGA 750 W G2
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2400 DC 16GB
SSD: Samsung 840 250 GB evo
HDD: WD 1TB Black
Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Black window

The price is not a big limit, but it should not be over the price of a Zotac GTX 980 TI AMP Extreme

Solution
Pick GTX 980 Ti if you will play only on 1440p. If you will stay with 1080p then GTX 970 would be perfect choice. If you will decide to get GTX 980 Ti go with MSI new TriFrozr version.

But would I have problems with screen tearing and/or vsync (heard it makes a lot of input lag)
