Powerline adapter (cabled) interfering with wifi from the hub

So i've been using a powerline adapter for a year with no trouble. ethernet comes in, powerline, then ethernet cable into my pc. never had a problem, but ive just moved to a new house with Sky ISP, and my flatmate claims the powerline is blocking the wifi. supposedly the wifi improved when the powerline adapter connected to the hub was turned off, however the other end was already turned off.

This sounds highly improbable to me. anyone actually know if this could be an issue?

People 'claim' all sorts of junk associated with WiFi. Have him actually show you.
Powerline unplugged, WiFi performance is X. Plug it back in, see what happens.

Powerline adapters operate in the MHZ frequencies where wireless is in the GHZ. It would be more likely to interfere with a fm radio before it affected wireless and if I remember right it is even below the frequencies used by fm radio.
