Im looking for a cheap AMD APU for my casual gaming pc. Preferably able to run minecraft on medium or something. Thanks

It all depends on your budget. If your budget permits it, going for a separate CPU and GPU will always be better.

The best APU to go for is the A10 7870k, although the A10 7850k is the same chip but cheaper. So if you can overclock it you'll get the same performance.

For APU it is important to have fastest RAM available.
I also put you rly good mobo and spend extra on better APU.

My advice and I can say this with personal experience. I built this setup for my nephew and it works great with Minecraft, Heroes of the storm, Dragon Age Inquisition all on High and even Witcher 3 Med/High settings all at 1080p

Get a Athlon X4 860k and any FM2+ board.

Then get this graphics card on newegg. It always has a mail in rebate and currently its $65 after rebate.

You can easily OC this card with MSI afterburner. 140-150mhz and 400mhz on memory.

No APU will match this setup, plus later you can always overclock the Athlon and buy a better graphics card if you desire.

This right here is the best build performance. Add a 3rd party CPU cooler for that build. It's really needed for the APU to get to Turbo all the time for best CPU and iGPU performance. Also needed if you intend (and honestly should) overclock the APU. If you don't like oveclocking at all, buy the A10 7870K instead of the 7850K.
