High Pitched Noise from CPU Fan

So I just put together a new mini itx htpc build using a GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XN-WIFI motherboard and a A8-7600 APU. When I started the system the motherboard makes low volume high pitched noise. After trouble shooting it seems that it only occurs when the cpu fan is plugged into the CPU fan 4pin connection on the motherboard. If the CPU fan is unplugged or plugged into a different 4 pin connector on the board it does not make that noise. Also I noticed if I enter bios it does not cause that high pitched noise. Bios is already upgraded. Any suggestions, or should I exchange the motherboard?

Thank you

turn of you fan alarm/ fan monitor alarm. in the bios. your fan is prolly spinning to slow or it is not giving proper feedback to your motherboard, so it thinks that it needs to alert you. or plug it in to a 3 prong fan connector and that might solve the problem to.

it trying to save you cpus life. i hate those alarms.

that "different" connecter may be the right connector that you need it plugged in to. ;)

So I looked at the manual and at the motherboard. The other prong fan connector is also a 4 pin labeled Sys_fan. I can certainly get by with plugging it into there or look at turning of the alarm but I rather not circumvent the problem. Would I be better of getting the Noctua aftermarked cpu cooler or a new motherboard since I just purchased it and can still exchange it.

Thanks for the help.
