Applied thermal paste for the first time. Was it okay?

I applied the thermal paste for the first time. Please see this photo and tell me if it okay. I don't want it to come out of the contact area and spread outside. I can try again if it is not okay.

I was trying the pea method but it went out of shape.

Seems like you put quite a bit on. I'd say you're fine, though.

I'd suggest leaving the blob bit but carefully removed the elongated bit.

In my build I use stock cooling and stock thermal paste and still got my G3258 at 4.4GHz.
