Hi people,
My Acer Aspire 8930G-664G32MN seems slower after an upgrade from 32 bit Windows 7 ulitmate to 64 bit. Could this be because of this upgrade or is someting else more probable to be the cause?
The CPU should support 64 bit.

And could 'upgrading' to Win10 32 bit help solve this problem or would it worsen it?

Thanks!

How much RAM do you have? If you only have the 4GB that was listed in your link, then you might be a little tighter on RAM. It is more likely that you haven't tuned the fresh install as much as you had your previous one. Extra stuff at startup or in the background that you might have turned off in the old install.

Yeah, I do have only those 4 Gb, but I tuned everything in MSConfig like in the 32 bit version and I have only like 15 programs installed compared to 50 before. Could Chrome be the cause, has it become (so much) heavier in the past years? Or could this laptop not be compatible with 64 bit?

Okay, I will experiment with a different browser andere maybe try instelling win10 32 bit.

I changed because in 'about my computer' or something said that only 3 out of 4 GB could be used andere thought this would be solved by switching to 64 bit.
Thanks for the help! I will try some options.

64 Bit could have given you a little more usable memory. It should have been 3.6GB or 3.8GB usable.
