Hi there,

I just completed my first build and now I'm a t the stage where I am trying to put Windows 8.1 on as the OS.

When I first tried to I got as far as selecting which device I wanted to store the OS on (where I selected the only HDD in my computer), then when I clicked next the installation didn't progress beyond this stage as it just kept loading the next page. After an hour I decided to just restart the installation and make sure everything was in order. When I tried the second time I only got as far as the windows loading screen and then after that the Screen just goes completely black and nothing happens.

I've tried resetting the BIOS with the CMOS Jumper and removing the BIOS battery to see if I may have accidentally changed a setting when looking at the setup but neither has worked, and I have tested the disk drive by using another which I know works and nothing has seemed to work as the problem keeps persisting with the same response, any advice or solutions would be helpful :)

Here's some things you can try:
1) Use the Microsoft Media Creation Tool to make an install disk (or USB) with Windows 8.1 Update
2) Download the drivers for your disk controller from the motherboard manufacturer's website and put it in the install disk. When installing the OS, click the load drivers hyperlink.
3) Use the advanced install option to format the disk first before installing
