Will this run dayz and arma 3 at high?

Im upgrading to the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 04G-P4-2974-KR 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card
and the Intel Core i7 i7-4790 Quad-core (4 Core) 3.60 GHz Processor.

have to love these posts....if you are spending $600+ on a top 5 cpu and top 5 gpu the chances are it will run most if not all games on high and even some of the most demanding games on ultra with decently playable fps.

i have seen an i5 with gtx 960 play a majority of games at 60+ fps on high or better...... an i7 4xxx is overkill for gaming,

this is an i3 and gtx 950 half as powerful and a quatar as costly and runs dayz at high (also the i3 is older 2nd gen)

games are not designed to demand cutting edge top tier gear as the game was designed and developed when lesser components were market standard..... you cant design a game to require technology that has not been created. therefore if the gear was considered top or even mid tier in the last 1-1.5 years will perform well in most any game.

the suggested build to perform well is sandy bridge i5 2300 which is the lowest budget 2nd gen i5 from several years ago and a gtx 560 4 generations ago and 4gb ram. not too demanding

best answer would be dont waste money and get a much cheaper i5 and even a gtx 960 for a total of about half the cost if he isnt palnning on doing anything extremely demanding with the system. use the extra money to get something like a case with better airflow if his isnt good or an ssd to speed up the whole system or maybe just use it to take the wife out on a nice date or if no wife go on a date to hopefully find one but why waste money on gear that will never be used to its potential just because you see adds that say get this card.

if they plan to buy it regardless of the advice than posting a question about a cpu/gpu released in he last 1.5 years for 2 games released 2 years ago is a little silly since the game was designed and released before the cpu/gpu were. but im done ranting...enjoy the thread. sorry to have given more info than was needed.
