What's the difference if I set the nvidia control panel settings to "performance" and max out the graphic settings in the game VS "quality" on the nvidia control panel settings and put the game graphic settings to default? Which settings will look better?

Solution

You bet...that default (which I think is used for things like AA) is best. The only time I fiddle with the option of forced AA/AF...is when it's a weird title that doesnt provide the options within the graphic's settings.

The slider means little IMO. IIRC, it sets some post processing defaults in the control panel...like AF/FXAA. Turning it to Performance vs. Quality isnt going to make a title look different IMO.

I've never touched the slider (on my 4th build, 6 nVidia cards later).

Should I just leave it to the default settings then? Choose the "Let the 3D application decide"?
