Why does my slave HHD use two drive letters?

I have an older VelociRaptor HHD I'm trying to use as a spare drive to save downloads on. It's a hot swappable drive. When I plug it in it uses two drive letters... one is a 200mb "local disk" and the other is the 300GB 'normal' drive. What is the 200mb local disk and how to I get rid of it? I only want 1 drive letter associated with this hard drive. Thanks!

Hey there, JrFreak!

You can try removing one of the drive letters form Disk Management, however, this will erase and format the partition which means losing your data. I'd strongly recommend you to perform a full backup before tempering with the storage.
If it's not your primary OS drive, I'd even suggest you to perform a full format and start from scratch with the WD VelociRaptor.
Here you can find more about the drive letter assignment in Windows: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=HjtFpM

Hope it helps. Keep us posted! :)
