Ram compatible with cpu or not

Hello I was just wondering I'm building a new gaming rig And I seem to have struck an issue.My mobo is the msi z97A krait sli edition and my ram is the Kingston hyperx(2x8gb) ddr3L fury.Both mobo and the ram support each other that's fine.But my cpu is a intel i5-2400 and it's specs say it's memory only supports 1333 and 1600 ram but the ram I have is 1866.So my question is this will this work out or will is not run aswell as is should??

The Fury run off PnP so they should set themselves up to run at what their programming considers their max (prob 1333) you can then manually try setting to 1600, if you need help, give a shout

Okay great news thanks but then doesn't that mean the ram could never reach its full potential?

Missed the mobo but the i5 2400 is an 1155 CPU, which won't run on the 1151 Z97 mobo, you need an 1155 mobo

Sorry it's the i5-4460 it's lga is 1150 and so is the mobo.The mobo is a msi z97A krait sli edition.

Another query if mine is that the ram says it's supports intels new 100 chipset technology....what does that mean and will it be compatible with my z97 mobo??
