Hi,

I enabled static route on my router set to the following;

IP Version : IPv4
Destination Network Address : 192.168.1.15 (my pc)
Subnet Mask or Prefix Length : 255.255.255.0
Interface : pppoe_0_8_35/ppp0
Metric(optional, value >= 0) : (left blank)

Now I can't access my router, is there anyway to access the router to remove the static route without resetting the router?
Can I plug a lan cable in and still access the router?
Maybe I can run some commands in linux to remove static route?

Please help! :(

It appears you've set your router to send any packets meant for your PC to the WAN.

You might try to resolve the access issue by setting a static IP address on your PC to something other than 192.168.1.15 (ex: 192.168.1.50), or try using a different PC to access the router.

Yeah traffic sent to the WAN port. His ISP/modem probably doesn't like his forced IP on their end either, haha.

If you can, change the interface to the jack number you have it in.

Keep your PC on auto configuration, the router will DHCP you your static IP anyway. If you find doing this fixes your LAN but Internet is acting wonky you may need to call the ISP and have them reboot the remote modem.

I tired this already, all devices cannot connect to the internet or access (ping) the router. I am going to try connecting via LAN and hopefully I can gain access again to turn the static route off.

edit:
I thought this static route was similar to setting a static IP but I think it's to connect multiple routers together (?), so I should not have been messing around with it :(

edit:
So LAN doesn't work either. Windows gives me fault "DNS server isn't responding" not sure if that is related or not. I would have thought connected with LAN or even wifi I should still be able to ping the router :(

edit:
Unless someone has another suggestion I think all that's left to do is reset the router and reconfigure it again (I hope my landlord remembers his passwords).

Yeah, so my landlord doesn't have the login details - the internet isn't even under his name, it's under his friends name. So it's going to be troublesome to get the details.

Thanks for the replies,
If anyone knows how to delete the static route without resetting the router please reply.

Yeah I see you are referring to the PPoE username and password.

Set a static IP of 192.168.1.15, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.1, dns 8.8.8.8, on pc.
Plug the pc to wan port and try the router settings website at http://192.168.1.1, if that doesn't work try the usual lan1 port.
