Hello community, this is my first post here, ive used this forum many times to find help and read overviews about hardware and stuff like this, i always found it very helpful. But now finally seem to to be the time when i need to ask for your help.
I know there are tons of threads regarding the 970 performance, but ive read almost all i could and i needed to post... i really lost all hopes here
Ok, basically I upgraded from a 560GTX to a 970 GTX, and the games runs better in the 560. Metal Gear and GTA performed very well on the old card, between 50 and 60 fps, and now i cant get higher than 30 fps. Ive tried everything, DDU unninstalling the drivers, even a clean windows install and nothing. I get low fps and stuttering..
I already checked the power options and set it on high performance, nothing seems to work, all i managed was to remove the stuttering and make the game "fluid", but never above 30 fps, nor in witcher nor in MGS. The only game that has given me proper FPS count is Alien Isolation, but thats not an open world so its practically useless to test it with that game. Im starting thinking maybe my card came defective? i still cannot know... I was hoping for a high end graphics performance, instead i feel like i wasted 330 bucks on this...
Btw i checked everything on EVGA precision Tool and MSI Afterburner, im inclined to think it might be something to do with the CPU, but seriously... im not getting even close to the performance i was especting... should i return the card? I really dont want to return it, i moved heaven and earth to get it, i live in venezuela and it was really hard to get it... seriously, like it will be a total problem if i have to return it
My PC:
AMD Phenom2 x6 1100t Black Edition
MSI 970A- G46
16gb Corsair Vengeance 1300 (667)
EVGA Nvidia GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0
WD 1tb 7200 Green
PSU Thermaltake T2 RX 750 w
Windows 10 Pro 64bit
Any help would be appreciated
