The time has come for an upgrade of my pc. I do not own a custom pc, it is instead an Acer predator g3100 which might be irrelevant in my question. However, I am afraid that my current system won't handle the new improved graphic card which is alot more powerful. I have done most of the researching and now for my final question: is it a good idea to switch it? Most of my components seem to support the new card. I am very thankful for any assistance.

Yes it would be a could switch and with noticiable difference. Your Psu is 450W+ right?. I would also upgrade to 8gb ram to take advantage of the 960 is heavy games. Your cpu is ok too. Even with a gtx 970 it would be Fine

(i have 960 with 16gb ram)
