According to EA's site (https://help.ea.com/en/article/the-sims-4-system-requirements/), the
PC RECOMMENDED SPECS:
REQUIRED: Internet connection required for product activation.
OS: 64 Bit Windows 7,8, or 8.1
PROCESSOR: Intel core i5 or faster, AMD Athlon X4
MEMORY: 4GB RAM
HARD DRIVE: At least 9 GB of free space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games
DVD-ROM: DVD ROM drive required for installation only
VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GTX 650 or better

So your HP computer should be more than capable of playing the Sims and allot of other games modern games at 1080 just fine. Just be aware that the GTC 970's memory allocation is a little misleading/different than most cards (http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-970-memory-issue-fully-explained/).

My only recommendation is to ditch the 2TB HDD (or use it as a mass storage drive) and get a SSD for your primary OS and games.
It makes a world of difference (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-recommendation-benchmark,3269.html). If you can't afford an SSD now, then that should be your first upgrade in the future.

this is correct..... you will see no issues gaming with that PC. the ssd will help with load times and overall system speed.
