I just bought an ASUS K550JD laptop running Windows 8.1. When I try to connect it to my LG TV through HDMI, the display on the TV is zoomed in/cut off like this, while the display on the laptop is normal. I couldn't seem to find any setting to change this in the NVIDA nor Intel control panels (this machine has dual graphics cards).
The display settings on my TV are pretty basic and provide nothing to resolve the problem either. (I never had this issue with HDMI on my previous PC, though.) Anyone know how to fix this?

The issue isn't with Windows, it's your TV. Go to "picture size" settings and select one that doesn't overscan.

If your TV is that horrible that it won't let you disable overscan, you can change overscan settings in NV and Intel control panels in the display section.

My TV is, in fact, so horrible, it won't let me disable overscan. Where do I find the overscan settings? I looked in the NVIDIA and intel control panels and could not find it anywhere.

I checked the control panels but I can't find anything resembling that option. NVIDIA only shows 3D settings, and Intel isn't much more useful. (I can at least see the whole screen if I set the scaling to 'center image' but then it's very small.)
