GTX 960 Running Super Hot very Fast ?

Hello again .

Is this Normal or just a insane values . somebody explain plz

when i start windows the grahpic card keep using 400MHZ of core in 45C temprature .
Then after starting playing games like Skyrim the core up to 1334MHZ in 73C it reached 75 then it descrease core clock to 900MHZ with low RAM . this appearing around only 7 minutes . Is this normal or theres something wrong .... am using Evga precision X App

any ideas how to reduce these crazy temps ?

Temperature actually fine. What is your temp limit in EVGA precision?

Those temps are alright. A little high for a 960 ... what is your tower? Have you installed fans in the tower to provide better airflow, etc?

Yes i used them both .... But thats quite too bad to reach temprature to 73C

anything below 80c when fully load is considered as very good. did you use Precision X and After Burner at the same time? also did you turn on v-sync in skyrim?

Yea v sync is turned on ... But i told ya when the GPU temp reach 75C the game performance being very bad , the fram rates drop from 60 to 30-25

what is your temperature target set in AB/Precision? because that can affect performance by throttling the clock speed when the temperature reach it's temp limit.

The max limit is 75C after it reach this the core clock reduce from 1334MHz to 405MHz ... Thats a bit anoyying .... I told u million times . The temprature limit is locked i cannot adjust it

Alright then disable AB (or precision) entirely. See what happen in games. Just use gpu z to detect your gpu status.

Well we need to know if the is anything weird first. What is the exact brand for your 960? Probably better for you to contact vendor support. Even if the card reach temp limit (for boost) it should not throttle the card down to 405mhz. The only possible cause that can make the card to throttle that much is from overheating, like the card already operating at temperature limit for the card which usually around 95c-98c for nvidia card. By default nvidia card should start throttling down when the temperature reach 84c but even so it will still operate at full 3d clock (without boost).
