How do I set up separate Default Gateways for wireless network and, modem/router connected by LAN

Hello,
I'm trying to unlock a Huawei B660 (B681) wireless modem router. The unlock tech says that both the Huawei router (connected via LAN), and the wireless modem router I am using to connect to the Internet, need to set to different Default Gateways. I cannot seem to get that to happen.
Their online server that does the reprogramming, obviously needs to be online, but how do I get the Huawei router to stay visible to their server ???
They suggest setting the Huawei to 192.168.1.1, and the net connecting wireless router to 192.168.5.1.

Your best bet is to turn off the wireless connection to the internet while you are doing this. You can not have 2 default gateways active......even though most pc will always pick the ethernet if it find 2.

If the solution requires you to be active on the internet then you must have the gateway only on the wireless and remove it on the lan. If it wants both then I have no clue that method can't work because the concept of only a single default gateway active is fundamental to how ip routing works.

Thanks for the reply,
I think the issue is, the communicating device online via the wireless (i.e. the server that is performing the online unlock of the Huawei modem/router), needs to be able to access that device (Huawei modem/router) connected to the LAN.
I cannot figure out why the wireless should go on 192.168.5.1, while the LAN device being unlocked is put on 192.168.1.1
In the original post, I included a link to the instructions from the server site. Maybe that would shed some light on some logic I might have missed.
