Computer shuts down (as if power key is held) and reboots randomly

At random intervals, my com would randomly shut off, and then restart and when it shuts off, it would do so as if I were to press and hold it's power key. I'm running a laptop, Acer Aspire 4750 and this would be the first time I've encountered the issue. I realised a few things, for one, if the charger is plugged in then only will this happen, so as long as I don't run the screen while the charger is plugged, it doesn't crash. Also, when running intensive softwares such as games, it does not crash either. It is not a case of overheating as my laptop is usually really cool even when it restarts, i've cleaned out the fan to rule that out and I recently concluded that it might be a driver issue. I did a full system format, resetting the laptop to factory defaults and I found it working fine for the first month or so. Now, suddenly, it would have some crashes again. Any ideas would be helpful, thank you in advance.

What is the charger?

You maybe get some softwares you don't want in your laptop. Run antivirus and malwarebytes.

the charger would be the one I got when I bought the laptop, and it's still working in fine condition, as for virus, I've run three different antiviruses as well as Malwarebytes,to no avail
