Hello, I am trying to use a recovery disk to repair a laptop that only gets to a "could not start because Windows\system32\config\system is missing or corrupt" screen.
However, the installation never reaches the "Welcome to setup" splash screen, as soon as it reaches the point where it says it is loading windows instead of other miscellaneous files, it crashes and restarts.
My suspicion is that the RAM is bad, as all of the hard drive tests in BIOS report no errors. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
