I recently bought a reference HD 7870 (because its cheap). First, I uninstalled the graphics driver of the iGPU using DDU Driver Uninstaller. After the old driver was uninstalled, I shut down my pc and plug in the new gpu. I ensured all power connections (2x6-pin) are connected properly. I use DVI-I to VGA adapter (the gpu has one DVI-I port) because I only have VGA cable. My monitor (Orion G1712) has one VGA and one DVI-I port. I connected the VGA cable with DVI-I to VGA adapter to the graphics card. I power the pc up but there is no display. I remove the gpu and reset the CMOS and I transfer the VGA to the mobo's VGA port (iGPU) and it has a display. What seems to be the problem?

Specs:
A8-6600K
Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-HD3
Kingston 8gb ddr3 1333mhz
Hitachi 500gb
Corsair VS 450
Windows 10 64-bit

-Is there any settings I need to change in the BIOS?
Edit: I tried setting NB PCIe slot video as default and set integrated graphics to disabled but still not working.

-I suspect its the DVI-I to VGA adpater. I never tried to test the adapter to my monitor (because the adapter and vga is too tight to fit in my monitor, my monitor has a bad design :() and other monitor (because I only have one monitor). So I want to try DVI cable. But what DVI cable should I use? The DVI-I or DVI-D?
Edit: I used DVI-D cable and it won't work.

-I didn't tested yet the gpu to other system.

Solution
Did you remember to go into your BIOS and set the card you just installed as the primary or default... and turn off the integrated video?
