I have a Asus M5a97 L3 R2.0 with Amd FX 8320, I have installed 32gb (4x8Gb Hyperx savage 2400mhz) but the bios only recognizes 16gb, CPU-z recognizes 32gb, Geforce experience & windows both recognize 32gb but only 15.9gb available, I'm running Windows 10 pro 64 bit & have updated bios today. Please can anyone help.

Was it a full set (a single package of 4x8GB)? What's the OC on the CPU? Might get by with 16GB with no OC but will prob need a bit of an OC to run 32GB. Regardless, try raising the the CPU/NB voltage to 1.35 and see if that helps any, then let us know.

If in offset , see what it is at, sat 1.200 if so set the offset to + 0.15 , so you have 1.2 + (offset) 0.15 to equal 1.35

I have done as you suggested and CPU/NB is now at 1.35, but bios still shows 16gb, while other points of reference in first post are exactly the same. also it appears that cpu temp has upped around 10 degrees since changing to 1.35

Might be the sets just don't want to play nice, but try OCing the CPU a bit to maybe 3.8 which should help the MC (memory controller) a bit
Hi again
I now have 3 sticks (24gb) working after following all suggestions offered, through trying different combinations I can pretty much be sure that all sticks are working and all sockets are working.
One thing I noticed though was that the ram sticks are wide because of the heat syncs so there is a possibility that one or more of the sync parts are touching .Could this be it?

Try taking DRAM voltage to 1.7 and CPU/NB voltage to 1.4, can still be sticks don't want to play, also it may the MC just can't handle 4 sticks at 2400 so might try at 1866 9-9-9-26
Hi, I have just found time to try out your suggestion, and I just put the ram in the empty slot, and would you believe it its recognized it now. I now have 32gb running at 17?? MHz (sorry in my excitement I forgot the last to digits)
Anyway thank you for all your help and just one more question. Should I still change the setting you suggested in your last reply, or now its working leave well alone.
