Is this upgrade going to slow me down any? Pros and Cons? Keep in mind I use my PC for both gaming and graphics design of several types. The ram I have is fast and smooth as butter but a free 32GB upgrade is very tempting for my video caching and other graphics fun. . .

I have the i7 2600 a 2nd Gen CPU and the XMP Profile 1 works for this setup so I get 1866MHz memory easy that way. Running them in standard mode I only get 1600MHz. If I need to give anymore details please let me know.

My Current System Specs:
Intel Core i7-2600 Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W BX80623I72600

ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900)

RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-730SS 730W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

I see then. The difference between 1GB and 4GB of RAM is huge. The difference of 4GB and 8GB is smaller than 1 to 4 but it makes some difference in video editing, compressing large files, etc. 8 and 16 is now noticeably smaller but has some difference. At the point of 16 to 32. Unless you are going to compress like 10 files at once and running Crysis 3 Ultra Settings. It's gonna help.

How about this take the free ram test it out on your system if it goes fluid trouble free then its a win-win.

If it doesn't take your old ram and pop it back in.

Ya I saw that, my cousin gave me this build and had those Corsairs in it. He said it ran fine I guess my question leans towards will I have any performance hit, and will the XMP Profile 1 work in the Corsairs. I would like to upgrade to them for the graphics side of things but the 16GB RipJaws X I have are good enough I suppose.

Ok after reading a little more I do believe these are fine for 2nd Gen Intels so not worried about that. The below is what they say on the part site. So my big worry is will there be any huge performance difference in the two since one is 32GB 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 and the other 16GB 1866MHz 9-10-9-28?
Corsair Vengeance Pro Series memory modules are designed for overclocking on the latest 3rd and 4th generation Intel® Core™ platforms, with eight-layer PCBs and ICs specially selected for performance potential.

Ya if I take them the GSkills go home to another state with my cousin and it will be a few months before he makes it back out. The build was originally his and the Corsairs he has as well I trust his build expertise that they will work fine I just wanted to know if they would run slower really I will fill them up doing my animations and music videos no problem lol. I fill my 16 up fairly fast now lol.

The CAS clocks I have with the GSkills currently is due to the XMP profile otherwise they default to 1600mhz 11-11-11-28-39

Oh I am sure you will be around and I will need the help in time once I become accustomed to my new rig and how it behaves, I will want to Overclock my CPU since its my bottleneck in this rig.
