My core temperatures are concerning to me. (First DIY project: New to PC building)

Hello everyone,

I recently built my first gaming rig so I'm not very familiar with proper cpu temperatures and perhaps a bit paranoid (Large investment). I read some of the info in the sticky, but I'm still concerned that my cpu is running hotter than it should. I haven't attempted a stress test or anything yet mainly due to inexperience.

My build has a Kendomen Deep Cool case as well as a Deep Cool Gammaxx 300 cpu cooler. I'm using HWmonitor to check my temps and all cores were reading at a max of 70°C from running Dark Souls 2 on high settings. The max readings may not have been consistently high seeing that I wasn't watching the temp readouts while playing. Is this normal or is my cpu running hot given the case and cpu cooler I'm using?

I've included a screenshot of the temperature readings shortly after I ended my gaming session as well as my build details below. Sorry if I'm just being paranoid, I'm not at all familiar with any of this yet, but trying to get better. Any ideas that would help or explanations that can ease my mind are appreciated. Thank you!

Those temps are warm but then again, they're the max that the CPU runs up to :) Those temps are good, as long as those temps are only reached when under load.
You can't expect that cooler or the slightly better CM TX3 Evo to keep that CPU really cool at full load; you bought it because it's quiet, not because it's a very good cooler. The Deepcool GAMMAXX 400 is a better cooler for that CPU: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/deepcool-gammaxx-300-cpu-cooler-review/6/ It's unfortunate you couldn't get a Cryorig H7.

For thermal paste, I used Antec formula 7.

I think I'll go with a beefier cooler. Someone online suggested this build, however equipment longevity is more important to me than noise so it's worth the investment of a better cooler. Still fairly new to hardware as well. I might go with the Gammaxx 400 unless there is a better option. I'd have to browse some prices, but I'd be willing to spend upwards of $100 to protect my equipment better.
