Torn between Intel Core i5 4460/4590 vs AMD FX 8320. Should I wait for Zen?

I am not sure if I should get a Haswell Intel core i5 or AMD FX 8320 for video editing, rendering and things like that. I heard that Zen was going to be released late 2016. I not sure which processor is better for what I want to do? I will do some light gaming, but not anything hardcore. Thanks!

Solution
By this time the i5 4590 will be better than any of the FX CPUs. I suggest going intel.

Problem with Zen right now is that we have no information on it. So I can't recommend it or advise against buying it.

that entirely depends on your budget .. if you can afford an i7 then that is great but otherwise an amd fx 8 core is a decent budget option ..
I will recommend an fx 8370 paired with something like r9 380 and a decent 550-600 watt power supply

or if you want a lower power draw option then fx 8370e + gtx 960 with a 450-500 watt power supply ..

I can't afford that. My budget is max $700-$750. Here's my build as of right now:

just some changes

get the 1866 MHz ram instead of 1600 ( optimal ram speed does matter for video editing ) ...

also you should get a 990fx mobo for a 125 watt tdp cpu like the 8320 or just as I suggested earlier get

an fx 8370e which is a 95 watt tdp cpu .. http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FX-8370E-Processor-3300Mhz-FD8370EWHKBOX/dp/B00MUTW6F6

and the 750 ti doesn't consume much power at all so you might even get a 400-450 watt psu ...

no dude a 970 mobo is not recommended for 125 watt cpu that is a fact ....

here is a comparison of 8370e vs 8320 .. I'll say it's totally worth it since you are getting lower power usage and slightly

better performance + you save the money by getting a 970 chipset mobo instead of a 990fx ..

I have an updated build. Here it is:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Z6yKt6

^ for just $9 more I did you a build with a gtx 950 & a better board & cooler already!

Hellowalkman - I'm sorry but you're absolutrly 100% wrong regarding the mb - the ud3p is on a par with 90% of current 990 boards which offer nothing over it apart from sli compatibility.

The 8320/8350/8320e/8370e/8370 are all exactly the same chip - the 8320 always has & always will be the most sensibly priced out of them all.

I'm just saying that I would rather have the MSI gaming Mobo. Thnaks though. The build is good, but I like my case and CPU cooler just fine.
