Hi i have a MSI CR61 laptop (specs at the end).
Rencetly I bought a WD Black2 Dual drive SSHD. Everything is working fine, except for this :
every time I transfer a movie or a big file from my external hard drive to the 1tb HDD, the transfer speed is always slowing down. Its doing the same thing when I transfer somthing from the SSD to the HDD and HDD to external drive. Is this something normal from a SSHD hybrid drive? or maybe im missing somthing...

specs : Windows 7 64bit, intel I-5-4210m, 16gb RAM, Intel HD graphics

Thanks

Hi again, fxbt94!

I think that since the diagnostic tests are indicating that the drive is okay and the speed drops during transfers, then you should try swapping the SATA cable as well and the SATA port on the motherboard as well. Give it a try and if the speed still drops, I'd recommend you to contact our customer support and ask for assistance because your WD Black Dual Drive should still be under warranty.

Hope this helps. Best of luck!

Welcome to the community, fxbt94!

I'm very sorry to hear about your slow transfer rate with the WD Black 2 Dual Drive! :( I'd recommend you to check the HDD's health and S.M.A.R.T. status by running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostic tool. Here's a link to the software: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=vmkni7
I'd also make sure you have the latest updates for the SATA drivers from your laptop manufacturer's website.

Keep me posted with the test results!

Thanks for your quick answer.
I tested QUICK and EXTENDED, both are good. The program dont see any problem. All my drivers are updated. The problem is not really because its slow, its starting at a speed of 175mbps and then its slowing down really low, sometimes it goes under 45mbps. I really dont know what to do. Im thinking about going back with a good HDD. Or SSD + HDD, but i dont have faith anymore in hybrid drive lol.

(sorry for my bad english)
