Hello! I got a problem with my laptop HP probook 4540s When Ipress on the power button, the power button makes a series of short and long light on/offs and will not start up. There is no video on the screen.
Problem started when I changed my hdd with ssd, but It did not solved problem when I give there HDD back again.
I read that it could be memory problem so I tried unplug my second memory (I got 2x4gb) and then laptop started... but when i turned it off again , there was the same problem... and when I plug in there missing memory It starts again normally... and all over again... plug unplug plug unplug to start my system,. Any ideas what could be the problem? THANKS!

Do you add other 4GB RAM? because the laptop came with 4GB only, if yes, the problem maybe from the new RAM, which is not compatible to the old RAM/ laptop.
Try this: use the new RAM only, you should take out the laptop battery, wait for a while and put it back. Boot the computer to see you can or not.
If you can't, that means the new RAM is not compatible, return it.
If you can, shut down the laptop, add the old RAM, and also take out the battery too, wait for a while and put it back, boot the laptop to see what happened.

RAM is compatible because It worked 1more year without any problems.
To your suggestion: I tried it and its still working the same way. When I plug/unplug any of my memory modules and connect battery, system starts normally and later when I shut down computer and try turn it on again THEN it is not working... until I again disconnect battery, plug/unplug one of memory modules, connect batttery and again everything is working till next computer shutdown
